I promised
Lex I'll stay at home and blog the whole day - so to save his ass (and eyes, and hands, and everything else) from boredom. Saves me ass from being a lazy bum and stop myself from procrastination too. A daddy has gotta keep his word to the son as a good example to look up to (as of last night, TJ became Lex's mom and I became his dad - we were nagging him to come home for holidays).
I've started off with two delicious food from my Australia trip, and now moving backwards in my trip history, comes the fattening
Malacca trip! Yes, pork out, people! We eat so much we get fat and too bad Boo Boo wasn't here. She would've been so happy with all the food we ate, but NO. She chose to enjoy herself in Sg shopping...
This is part II of our Penang trip. It was supposed to be a Penang
makan trip again, we were going to head north to Ipoh, Taiping, and then Penang...and
eat for 3days 2 nights. Whatever made it shrink to a 2 days 1 night trip in Malacca was my bad. But not entirely cause the flight to Melbourne was fully booked on 1 July...
OK! So here goes.
27.06.2007
We departed after a very filling lunch, in 3 different cars - Sam's, baby Ivan's, and JJ's. JJ didn't know we're going to stay the night, and he did not pack anything at all, so he had to go back home and pack!
Kian Huei, Hui Ru, and I were in Sam's comfy car. We had pillows to go with the very comfy sofa seats. This was the one thing that fascinated us on our way there, one of the things that kept us entertained: Malaysia's very own automated-hand-waving-flag-mechanical-man for road works. So canggih! We tried to snap a photo of it, it never turn out good cos Sam must've been driving pretty fast (haha, actually no. He slowed down for us, still we couldn't cos of shutter lag time, and also cos we kept our cameras too soon and thought there weren't anymore...). Anyway, this was one of the best I could do:
Ivan & co. arrived first and checked into our apartment.
First thing was - paying Ivan/Colin for the accommodation; they just couldn't get the amount right because apparently there was a short in the total amount collected when everyone has paid. We searched high and low, someone even came up with a probability that the money flew out of the balcony. That was not a problem of misplacement/absent minded, but actually we came up with a
mathematical problem after almost 15 long years of studies, and a fresh grad of University.
Then came the idea of watching
Transformers, the premier was that night. Almost everyone was in line with the idea, except we said we're gonna get a Hindi movie for Colin. We never got any tickets in the end, because they do not have the premier in Malacca. Instead, Sam, Hui Ru and I went around
SHOPPING at Dataran Pahlawan. We walked in Nike - I fell in love with a bag...and minutes later it's in my hands. Muahahaha.
Dinner time, we left at 6.30pm to eat
Satay Celup. We ended up in the car, getting lost, driving round and round the same place, the same road for almost
2 long hours. We were all starving, when we made about 4 rounds at
Lorong Bukit China, only to realize that Capitol Satay is there, and it was closed that day:
We were all starving, so we settled for
Wantan Noodles and
Fried Oyster nearby. Yum.
So hungry that we had
3 times of dinner that evening - Kwai Teow Soup and Dry noodles, which was a transitional pit stop while waiting for the Char Siew Fan shop, which Chun Beng intro-ed.
Of course, we shared all the food...
I shared this with Cheryl.
We went back to our apartment, some of them took a shower, and off we went downstairs to the lounge/bar. There were drunk/tipsy adults dancing and they were gonna close in 15 minutes; so we left for a walk to McDonald's.
That's JJ so enthusiastically walking ahead of us. He bought us ice-creams, fries, and nuggets. As a treat for us all because EXAMS ARE OVER!
woot.
While Felix ss (syok sendiri), and took pics on top of a ball.
We chatted until 3.30am. DS was asleep early and took almost the whole bed, poor Colin and Ivan. Then Dude farted *ppffttt*. Ivan literally JUMPED out of the bed. OMG So funny! Kar Mei and I couldn't stop laughing. There were many more funny stories - Colin poking Ivan in the middle of his sleep/dream. DS didn't have a blanket the whole night because he didn't know there is blanket. Ivan didn't have place to sleep cos he was sandwiched by Colin and DS. Colin dreaming that he was a
tai ko or something, ordering ppl around: he pointed at a direction, and then nodded. Etc.
28.06.2007I went for a morning walk with Wen and Chien Wen.
We had a long photo session before we finally left the place and checked out.
Took weird
gayish photos like this:
We bought tickets to watch
Transformers 3.40pm cause we've decided to stay until evening for Satay Celup.
Lunch was
Chicken Rice balls!
Then we walked, shopped, and had
Nyona laksa and
cendol.
After the movie, we were all so transformers-hyped.
We had Satay Celup.
Gone. Everyone was so full. So tired. It was already evening.
All headed home, oh and we also finally finish signing the birthday cards for Kar Mei and Ivan.
Thanks guys...sorry you all had to accommodate to my schedule! Muacks.
